台65線快速道,雨天失控車禍(MAZDA 3)

I think there is something wrong with Taiwan Mazda and Toyota but it's easy to fix. Just replace with good tires. Those cars are very reliable. The owners already save a lot of money. I think it's OK to pay extra cash to upgrade their OEM tires...

Are you kidding....
Let me tell you one story. In 2012 winter, I drove our still quite new M35X(AWD) (less than 15K km) with my family to ski resort. When road turned icy, My M35X (has much bigger all-season OEM tires, traction control, ABS, AWD, lane departure system, etc) was sliding and no traction at all. A Toyota Corolla with tiny tires in front of me didn't slide a little bit.

I think my M35X is still RWD in nature like other normal M35. Just like CR-V AWD is still FWD in nature. FWD is always better than RWD in snowy road and maybe in rainy day.

I'm not professional racing driver. Tokyo drifting is good in the movie but in real life it's not fun at all.
Well, tires are definitely important without a doubt. However, the driver’s mindset is the key, I presume.

Most of the people here in Taiwan have few experiences to drive during extreme weather. They have no idea why do cars lose control easily. What’s the difference? The road still looks the same. No snow, no ice...

It's not possible to foresee what will happen… if they are not aware of the danger.

I don't think they were driving fast or reckless. They just faster than other cars. It should be OK...

In California we also see more reckless/worse drivers with old Mazda/Toyota cars but I never saw this kind of situation happen.
My second car was 1992 Civic LX which was bought from small used car lot in Taipei in 1996. It has 80K km already when I bought it. Then I drove another 80K km and sold it in 2001. During that 5 years I always drove it at speed limit + 10 on the local road/highway in Taiwan no matter sunny day or rainy day except heavy rain. If someone blocked me, I always tried to down shift and pass blocking cars in safe way but I never got into trouble. Of course that Civic didn't have ABS, traction control, etc. It only had one airbag in driver side... (I also sometimes drove my father's 1996 corolla LE, it was also good. That Corolla didn't have traction control but it had ABS and two airbags)

Now my G35S/M35X/GSF can accelerate and take corners much faster but if some small old Mazda/Toyota cars cruise near speed limit + 10 on the highway in USA, I will still follow them(don't want to get speeding tickets) and found they were still quite good and stable.

So final conclusion is "I really don't think they should spin like that so easily...."
It’s a fair conclusion. However, it brings up what I have mentioned earlier… The human factor of the accident.

We are not able to make sure the car in the clip equipped the worst tires, but I’m pretty convinced that a different driver will lead it to a different outcome. I mean, not every driver with that car is going to end up this way.

Even a well equipped supercar crashes if the driver is not aware of the danger on the road.

BENZ GLC, GLE, GLS 大部分都是四驅車, 歐美下雪 等同於台彎的多雨,影片中的車子如果是全時四驅,不是百分百不會有狀況,但是應該是會好很多 和不會這麼嚴重的!
