The U. Penn study is based purely on the numbers and math models. Number says Jeter is the worst SS out of all major league SS. With Jeter on SS, he coughed up about 13 runs over a season, where as A-Rod saved over 10 runs when he was at the Rangers. I remember when the study came out, most fans didn't care, 13 runs over a season is very little and also because hitting was more important to them, and Jeter is a big game hitter.
This is not saying Jeter is a bad SS, it just means others were better at SS based on the range they can cover, the errors, and also the decisions they made.
