i also think wang will be back next year. he is too cheap for yankees to get rid of him. even if he only wins 10 games next year, at his salary level, it's still worth it.
yankees should have money to get big time pitchers, especially if a-rod leave, and on all indications, it is likely a-rod will leave. i highly doubt a-rod will go for extensions and i don't think the yankees will want to give him and boras the contract they want, which is 10 year + and between 300-500 million.
but baseball is a business, so...i guess you never know....
as for rivera, yankees could use job as closer. even though joba is projected to be a starter, yahoo sports interviewed him today and he said doesn't really matter. he will do whatever the team wants him to do, and that the only difference to him as closer or starter is that he will throw more changeups as a starter.
