The reason that I chose to come to you and seek for your help, it was because you are not only one of the most credible and the biggest news media in all North America English news programs, but also, we have faith in you. We believe that you would land us your hands when we needed it because all humans share one common trait - empathy (though personally think that it is quite depending on the level a person would have.) You have helped us in many things that I could not mention at once. Not only just that, but we also share similar political background- democracy. I am proud of democratic nations because justice, opportunities, wealth and trust prevail not only to the privileges but also to the common people. On the exterior factors, the macro economy has brought us all together, it's a global village. When your economy was badly hit in 2008, the whole world's economy got pulled down. Yet, I have the faith in you that you will stand up strong and well again. You have proved yourself sturdy and still do. On the interior factors, human's empathy and acceptance to one another has glued us together. When your nation faced the massacre that took away 26 lives in Sandy Hook Elementary School, I mourned for days. I watched videos and read news madly one after another, only wanting to find out if the justice has landed onto those innocent lives. I cried for days only mourning for the lives that could have been protected and saved. Your daytime is Taiwan's nighttime. In an effort to catch up with the most updated news in the United States, I did not have proper sleeping schedules at then. The dark nights that stayed with me resembled the darkness surrounded the victims in the graves. I would never understand why one would be so willingly taking away another's life. You may not have heard of Taiwan. You may do and think that it's none of your business to help release Wang Hao (王昊)'s news to the world because it's just a little tiny island nation. You may be thinking Taiwan is the same as Thailand, because they all started off with capital letter T. However, Taiwan's size is not determined by its land size (may be so compare to China) because 2/3 of the world's chips are fabricated in Taiwan. Taiwan stood the strategic position in wars, to add, you can find that out from Taiwan's history. It had been colonized by Dutch, and Japanese. Spanish and French loose in the wars from colonizing Taiwan. Also, Taiwan is a known democratic nation. To a certain level, we reflected you or what a democratic country can be or will be in Asia. Let me plead you for one small favor that all Taiwanese who signed the petition for punishing the four criminals: Liu Chin-lung (劉金龍), Chou Chien-hui (周建輝), Hsu Kuan-hsiung (許冠雄) and Cheng Sheng-feng (鄭盛峰) with death penalty, would deeply appreciated. We don’t seek for you to take sides, some are sensitive with the death penalties issues, all I/ we ask for is you posting this news to the world with the pictures of the victim. Let the world knows how the two and half year old boy suffered from nearly a month long of tortures; plucking nails out, burning the wounds to conceal them, hitting the kid’s legs with rods, throwing to the wall, sticking long thick nails through the kid’s legs and injecting heroine and other kinds of drugs . You can indeed see holes on the baby’s legs. This issue is no longer about child abuses but how we respect lives and builds a true humanistic world that everyone could live safely, well-guarded and protected. No kids have ever Ever suffered from such excruciating pains from various torture techniques to death- at a lengthy period of time of more than 20 days. We, Taiwanese, promised this little life in our hearts that the life of this deceased kid, Wang Hao, will stay with us forever and no more similar events shall take place again. The judgment for Wang Hao’s case will set up as the exemplary example for the future similar cases to follow. Therefore, it is extremely important for you to lend your hand to us so that we have the chance to fight against the powerful Ministry of Justice. Since the past, you have fought for many good causes, and won gloriously. We believe that this will be one of the good causes for you to join and become proud of participating in it. Again, please lend us your powerful hand in news media, we truly need it. Please spread Wang Hao’s death, the tortures he had gone through and the judges’ ridiculous sentences to the world until the final victory comes. We need the world to hear it and understand that democracy not only gives us the chance to fight for justice but also gives us the chance to win.
