至少比「幾星級」或「有無出過問題」要來的公正的多

Start with a grade of 100:
從100分開始計算
1) For every listing of "by-product", subtract 10 points
有任何by-product成分的 每一項扣10分
2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal or fat
) reference, subtract 10 points
有任何不確定動物來源(肉粉或是肉蓉) 每一項扣10分
3) If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points
如果成分裡有BHA BHT或是ethoxyquin(防腐劑的一種) 扣10分
(這邊稍微解釋一下原因：ETHOXYQUIN對貓/狗的安全性未有詳細報告，而BHA/BHT之類的防腐劑有致癌的危險)
4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5 points
有任何穀物 如果有研磨或是沒確定來源的 每一項扣5分
5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first five
ingredients (i.e. "ground brown rice", "brewera??s rice", "rice flour"
are all the same grain), subtract 5 points
如果成分裡前5項有用 2個以上的穀物 扣5分
6) If the protein sources are not meat meal and there are less than 2 meats in
the top 3 ingredients, subtract 3 points
如果蛋白質來源不是肉粉，而前3項來源只有使用兩種以下的肉 扣3分
7) If it contains any artificial colorants, subtract 3 points
如果成分內有人工染色劑 扣3分
8 ) If it contains ground corn or whole grain corn, subtract 3 points

mixed tocopherols and rosemary), brown rice, fresh deboned pacific salmon (natural
source of epa and dha), chicken liver, fresh whole eggs, sun-cured alfalfa, salmon oil,
pumpkin, chicken cartilage (natural source of glucosamine and chondroitin), apples,
carrots, turnip greens, cranberries, Saskatoon berries, organic sea vegetables (kelp,
