※ Milan-San Remo 是一場自1907年起在義大利舉行的單日"古典賽"(Classic cycle races)，也是 The five Monument one-day races (五大古典賽) 在每年賽季中最早舉行而且里程最長的一場。
--- 相對於另一場10月份在義大利舉行的 Monument 賽事 - Giro di Lombardia 被認為是 "a climbers classic"，Milan–San Remo 則因為他的路線特性偏於平路、缺乏艱難的爬坡，而被認為是 "a sprinters classic"。
--- 從近16年比賽的結果來看，可以得到一個結論 " POGGIO or ROMA "：
Milan-San Remo 的最終獲勝者，要不是屬於在最後的 POGGIO 坡發動攻勢而突圍成功者 (如2018年的 Vincenzo Nibali)，就是屬於在終點 (ROMA) 的集團衝刺中勝出者，二者的比例差不多各占一半。
