剛剛在英國F1網站看到一則關於法拉利F1 2007年新車的報導.
對於其中一段描述不甚理解,

該文章中提及,F2007今年採用超長的軸距,
與其他車隊紛紛採用短軸距的策略不同.
由於各車隊預期今年的普利斯通後輪,將會磨耗超快,
為減輕比賽中的車胎損耗,大部分車隊均採用短軸距設計.
茲節錄原文如下:
"Rival teams expressed surprise at the direction the Italian squad took with its car when it was unveiled in January. Particularly since most of the 2007 cars feature a significantly shorter wheelbase than the Ferrari, in order to help protect the new spec-Bridgestone rear-tyre which the teams expect to feature a high rate of degradation over long runs."
小弟的疑問在於,賽車軸距長短究竟和輪胎磨耗呈現何種關係?
輪胎磨耗不是應該和懸吊或空氣動力套件之設定有關嗎?
軸距短的車,真的有助於減輕後輪的磨耗嗎?
