大大您搞錯了喔,mazda跟ford是用同系列引擎沒錯喔,在mazda稱為MZR,FORD稱為Duratech
差別在於名稱而已喔,至於汽缸只是搭載形式的不同而已,同一系列引擎不同CC數只差別在汽缸形式,
缸徑,缸數跟衝程不同,還有大CC數跟小CC數的引擎週邊配置亦會有所差別,但其是都是同系列引擎喔

MZR是Mazda於2002年推出的新一代直四DOHC 16V引擎，最早在日本市場上是由Atenza（Mazda 6）和MPV所搭載，不過隨後當Demio（Mazda 2）於同年7月進行大改款後，原本僅有2.0、2.3升的MZR引擎，也另外衍生出排氣量更小的1.3和1.5升版本。2003年在日本登場的Axela（Mazda 3），當然也順應這股潮流搭載1.5、2.0以及2.3升三種MZR引擎，這也使得MZR引擎成功發展出一系列對應不同車型與不同級距的版本。
mzr其實都是透過缸徑或行程的變化來衍生出不同排氣量。例如Demio所搭載的1.3升和1.5升版本，便是在活塞行程同樣維持78.4mm的條件下，藉由78.0mm與74.0mm的缸徑設定來造就出1.3升、1.5升兩種排氣量；Axela和Atenza所搭載的2.0升以及2.3升版本，則是以相反的手法在缸徑同為87.5mm的條件下，透過83.1mm和94.0mm的行程來達成2.0升、2.3升兩種排氣量。

MZR

您提到Mazda的MZR引擎, 在Ford是叫做Duartec引擎.
但並非所有的Duratec引擎都是MZR引擎.
目前台灣賣的新馬六2.5 I4,是從先前舊馬六2.3 I4修改來的沒錯.
但是先前討論的Mondeo Mk3, 2.5 V6(台灣搭載於RS款),
這一款引擎應該是以前Mazda MPV 2.5 V6類似(日本Mazda又將排氣量略修小),在Mazda列為AJ系列,而非MZR系列.

The Duratec 25, or Duratec 2.5L I-4, is an evolution of the Duratec 23. 'Duratec 25' should not be confused with the similarly named 2.5L V6 Ford Duratec. The new Duratec 25 is an inline 4-cylinder engine design that is identical to the Mazda MZR 2.5L. The bore and stroke have increased to 89mm x 100mm and as such now displaces 2488cc | 151ci. Power has been increased to 171hp@6000rpm and 171lb-ft@4500rpm torque. A Hybrid Duratec 25 will be replacing the Hybrid Duratec 23.
