I did not have a strong feeling about this car before but your series of reports are just fabulous and the devil inside just keeps crushing my mind now.
One major concern for 535d is that normally I only drive about 10-11K Km per year i.e. I only use car for short distance of office daily work (20 mins per trip inside Taipei) and the only longer cruising opportunity is the weekend golfing (to Touyuan area). In my situation, I am wondering is 530 or 535d a better choice to me. Knowing that you have spent quite some efforts to study your right car, what's your opinion on my situation given your experience for the past few weeks with 535d? Thanks for your advice and cong't to your new nice car.

Do you like a V8 ?
Enjoy the huge TQ & leading luxury but find it a little waste somehow cuz you don't need that much
power most of the time, besides Government always charge you more on taxes.
535d is then a good alternative, Luxury and TQ , tax paid even less than a V6 here.
Fuel economy sounds a nice tip to have for the nature of diesel.
530i is one greatest I6 out of executive cars, there're GS350, E350 , A6 3.0..... not far away from it
Pickup the brand, style, luxury or performance on your own appeal.
Most people are budget to decide one among them.

if you don't drive a lot, maybe 530i is a better choice. here are my reasons.
1. although diesels pay less fuel tax each year, 535d is more expensive to buy at first place, which pretty much offset any price advantage.
2. 535d is tuned for sport. as a result, you won't see huge fuel efficiency comparing to 530i.
3. right now, the diesel quality (sulfer level) in taiwan is still NOT under the requirement for the engine. (the engine need less than 15ppm in sulfer. but taiwan's diesel is around 50ppm) although people might think it's not a big problem... but who knows? warranty is only 2 years. if you are keeping your car more than 5 years, you may want to take this into consideration, too.
4. The 530i gas engine in taiwan does NOT have direct fuel injection.
