Fear, but few facts, on hybrid risk
Prius

Electromagnetic fields in hybrid
Prius
EMF Prius

It's an OLD topics that had been discussed a lot in the past few years.
1. The battery wiring in the hybrids like Prius largely travels under the body where it is shielded from the inside of the car by the steel floor; and in the back, it's all also inside a metal box. On top of that, the conductors are close to each other which is intended to reduce battery loop inductance, which also has the effect of canceling out magnetic fields.
2. A MythBuster on ConsumerReport was talking about EMF levelin hybrids
From the table, you can find the EMF readings of hybrids are similar to convetional cars.

The flow of LF magnetic radiation was 24.91 mG in the right rear passenger seat that it was generated by the HV cooling fan when the HV OEM battery was overheat. The value is similar to PC using (2~20mG), electric blankets (5~30mG), and a hair dryer (10~ 70 mG)
3. In countries that have signed up to the UN ECE 1958 Agreement on vehicle construction, all vehicles must be type approved before they can go on sale. All EU members have signed up, as has the EU as an organization. Japan signed in 1998.
Vehicles and vehicle components must be tested to meet the construction regulations. Regulation 10 concerns electromagnetic (EM) compatibility. It covers both EM emissions from the vehicle and its behaviour when subjected to EM fields. The full text can be found at UNECE - Transport Division - Vehicle Regulations - Addenda to the 1958 Agreement (Regs. 1 - 20).
