Prius has two batteries, one is the 12V lead acid battery (every car has it), another
main battery is the 201V NiMH battery. The main battery was carefully charged between 40% ~ 80% (Never fully charged and Never fully discharged) and located behind the back seat with the temperature control ( electric fan). The memory effects of battery come from irreversible chemical reaction which usally happened in the fully charged and discharged condition without temperature control. So the main battery of Prius can last longer than you think.
For example, a taxi driver had a 2001 Prius acquired 332,000 kms [approx. 200,000 miles] in 25 months. But the battery was still fine.

I have driven my 2006 Prius for almost three months in the midwest of US.
The total mileage is 1674 miles (x1.609 = 2693 KM), I added 4 tanks of gas for around 39.3 gallons ( 148.6 liters). So the MPG( miles per gallon) was 42.6 (> 18KM/L)
The temperature here is very low, it is between 5C and -20C in Jan and Feb.

Right now temperature is gradually rising (5~15C), so the last tank of gas, I got about 47 MPG (~ 20KM/L).
