I get taunted on my evo x a lot.. most are 335/civic/Z pretty stupid; stock 335/new Z > evo x in acceleration.
Get a cobb accessport, i got a k&n drop in filter and updated stage 1 map, hp at the crank is about 330 stock map runs way too rich, hence the smoke =.= a lot of smokes. If you want to put an intake / turboback /upper intercooler pipe etc to boost performance, you need a custom tune. If not, your AFR will be running lean, and creating problems like early fuel cuts.
There are a lot of guides on how to tune your own evo, also there are free maps using ecuflash; they are free. Get a cable, hook up, and upload with your laptop that's all.
