2017/18 CRV 53000KM Brake boaster failure.
When the car comes to a complete stop, stepping on the brake pedal, you can hear popping sound coming out of the front dashboard. The sound can vary between loud and not loud or louder, once you release the brake pedal, sound is gone. Activating auto-stop hold function, you will not hear this sound.
Honda Zhongli check and found the brake boaster is defective - after waiting three days and two hours later the problem is fully resolved. Thank you Honda Zhongli for your professional service.
Brake boaster is an augmentation of your brake force. I did not notice much difference when this device has failed except my stopping distance seems to be longer. I even drove to Kaohsiung and return with this defect and no much impact on my driving.
Just to mention here, since it is covered by warranty, do go and replace/check if you have this issue. It is not an assembly defect! It is a failure. I was told CRV braking system was provided by Bosch and their quality does not seem to be that great! Haha.
