The 11th-Gen Honda Civic Turbo Is Hiding a Lot of Extra Power
2022 honda civic hatchback @ JDM
(not sure if 2022 honda hatchback civic (L15C) @JDM is identical to that (L15B7) @USDM although both numbers of powertrain are the same.)
FL1/6MT actually reminds me of legendary EG/EK series back to insane 90's if honda would introduce it in taiwan.
In fact, in addition to the dual VTC, the VTEC system with switchable high-angle cams has finally been added to the exhaust side.
So that the maximum torque of L15C is output at a lower 1,700rpm, and high turn performance is also raised.
In other words, maybe there could be a more powerful L15C for the upcoming Honda models.
BTW, in the Japan and EU markets (as well as Taiwan, the first half of 2023?) only Civic e:Hev hatchback is introduced and sold.
Those Civic models with 1.5 turbo engines are not the option of honda Taiwan for this moment at least.

I wasn't talking about the comparison between 10g and 11g honda civic. Actually I am raising the question why the engine code of latest 11g honda civic hatchback @USDM (FL1 ; engine code:L15B7) is different from that@JDM (FL1; engine code:L15C) regardless of the fact that both ones have pretty much the same powertrain numbers and valve -train configuration. Is there anything hidden behind the curtain? I heard Japanese likes to keep good stuffs in their domestic market, which can be one of reasons.(?).
Honda L engines
Besides, on top of hybrid civic (FL4) there have been 6MT and CVT trims already on the shelf in Japanese market. And the price differentiation is 10% -ish lower from hybrid to 6MT/CVT. Please check out the following Honda Japan official website.
2022 honda civic @ Japan
Ending up, an interesting thing is that there is about 40% initial orders of 2022 honda civic coming for 6MT in Japan, reportedly which is vastly out of my surprise.
