Mark=標記 , 我們"標記"了一個東西,通常是用來度量一個長度,高度,或進步的程度 .
所以 Mark 代表發展到某一個等級Level.
The word Mark, followed by number, is a method of designating a version of a product.
Because a mark is often made to measure height or progress, by metonymy the word mark is used to note a defined level of development thus designations like "Mark I", "Mark II", "Mark III", "Mark IV", etc. come to be used as proper names.
Mark 縮寫就是 MK
或寫成 某某generation 第幾代
例如
mark3= Mk3= mkIII= 3rd generation= Third generation=第三代

很簡單，日本車幾乎都是講代號的。
Civic
EF, 四代, 不寫代號時就用 Civic 4th Generation
EG, 五代 不寫代號時就用 Civic 5th Generation
EK, 六代, 不寫代號時就用 Civic 6th Generation

不要拿日本車也可以，以VW passat 來說，也不講MK幾的，Audi A4也是，直接講代號(因為更清楚)
Passat B3, B4, B5, B55, B6, B7....
Audi A4 B5, 8E...等等

另外小弟還有一個小疑惑:
MK3這個代號是不是FOCUS專用的呢?
MONDEO或是TIERRA就很少聽到這種MK代號~
最常見的是版上常會有標題:
我的MK3怎麼怎麼樣...
完全沒講車種
誰知道是在講哪一台車型的第三代?
唯一相同的是點進去通通都是在講FOCUS MK3...
