美國的sony客制部分比台灣的公司貨資訊來的迅速跟豐富許多
另外因為我本身也是vaio的愛好者

美國也是直到前幾天才正式開放記憶體升級8G的服務
2G=>4G價格為加美金一百元
2G=>8G價格為加美金七百元
值不值得取決於個人
不過美國這邊原廠隨機附贈的作業系統就是64位元起跳的了
另外也有支援TV的功能
原機子裡面就內建電視卡
原廠還提供一條可以插電視線的轉接線
遙控器也有隨機提供

no matter how good the notebook LCDs are, it's no match when comparing to desktop LCDs.
when you look at the 18inch notebook and think it's wow, huge, and comparing that to a 24, 26, or even 30inch LCDs. it's just absolute no comparison. (the biggest difference is the contract ratio, while desktop LCD can easily go to 1000:1, none of the notebook can even go up to 600:1 as far as i know)
If you are a Sony fan, i think Sony FW is an excellent deal, you can have a fairly well equipped machine in the lower side of a grand. use the rest to invest on a nice 30inch monitor or so. In a few years when new and faster computer come out, you can just upgrade to the new and faster notebook and still use the 30inch monitor.
there are quite a lot of new technology coming in the next couple years. The CPU is going into Corei7 (which maybe 50% faster clock per clock) and USB 3.0 (which will be a lot faster than 2.0), WiMAX, both nVidia and ATI will jump to 40nm technology which will have at least 200% performance boost while using less energy. SSD will become much faster and more reliable. All of these WILL happen in the next couple years that spending big buck on one machine right now seems not quite worth it. (no matter how much you spend today, it will perform like crap in 3 years, however, a nice 30inch monitor is still going to be real nice 3 years from now)

但是本身我並不喜歡拆機
所以我會選擇寧可多花一點錢
一次到位
也不要承擔自行拆機的風險
損壞或是刮傷都是考量的因素
所以是否可以自行拆機更換東西我並沒辦法回覆您
但是如果您心臟夠大～敢承擔風險
我想您如果想升級任何"非焊接死"的配備應該都沒有問題
另外關於4G跑VISTA的效能的問題我也無法回答您
因為我不知道您對於效能的要求是什麼～所以我無法回覆
但是基本上大家都知道記憶體能夠越高越好
而且隨機附贈的就是64位元的系統
我想直接插到8G未來心理比較不會想東想西的吧
最後關於XP
我本人是XP的擁護者～我非常的唾棄跟不削VISTA
我甚至主觀認定VISTA是電腦史上最失敗的作業系統之一（純個人想法～沒有筆戰的意思）
理由其實也很簡單
VISTA所支援的東西比起XP來說真的太少了
很多我需要的軟體還不支援VISTA～而且還吃一堆效能
不幸的是
對於SONY的產品
只要有配備藍光光碟機
就無法降級XP
這一直是我心中很大的痛
也是為什麼我還是有一些排斥SONY的原因
我甚至為了這個跟美國SONY的客服吵過架
因為我跟他要求我要降級XP（微軟說只要選商業或是旗艦版本可以自由選擇要不要降級XP）
我是64位元的旗艦版本～我要求要給我一片降XP的光碟～並且跟他們說後果我自己負責
結果他們竟然說不提供～還說如果我要降級～我要自己去買原版的XP～我就真的很生氣
氣到我說我要退貨～結果客服竟然說～這是我自己個人使用的問題～並不是電腦損壞的問題～所以拒絕了我退貨
對於美國來說是匪夷所思的～因為在美國有所謂的七天鑑賞期～無條件退貨
後來我真的很喜歡AW～也覺得很棒～尤其是螢幕質感真的好棒～所以就懶得跟他繼續吵跟申訴～繼續使用了
抱歉～自己廢話了一堆～離題了
總而言之就是對於SONY目前的產品
只要配備藍光光碟機的機型～都無法降級XP
