大意就是 Ricoh 告知 DPReview 他們就是想讓那些對一般 DSLR 感到有壓迫感的使用者而設計 K-S1 的，而這個位於背部且會發光的模式轉盤就是其中之一（一般 DSLR 都位於機頂）。
多數入門使用者即使有光學觀景窗卻還是習慣用 live view 從 LCD 取景構圖，所以把所有資訊做在機背上也是個合理的作法。
