Dear Mr. Hsu,
Thank you for your e-mail regarding E-500.
The biggest difference between 17.5mm-45mm and 14-45mm lenses are
their weights and dimensions.
<17.5mm-45mm>
Weight - 210g (75g lighter)
Dimensions - 71mm (D) x 70mm (L)
<14-45mm>
Weight - 285g
Dimensions - 71mm (D) x 86.5mm (L)
In Japan, when we introduced the E-500 in Japanese market,
as E-500 achieved world's lightest body, we would like to provide
a light and compact lens which meets the need of the active photographers
who appreciate lightweight load.
17.5mm-45mm lens is specially designed for E-500 Value Kit which only comes
as a set and not to be sold the lens itself.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
C. Gakiya

> Hi!

>I have a Canon 300D now.
>But I like the color of Olympus's , so I bought a E_500 Kit, the Kit lens is 17.5mm - 45mm. It is a good performance combination.

>But can you tell me why you have 14-45mm to compete with 17.5-45mm? what is the major difference in between? and howcome 17.5mm-45mm is not listed in your product road map?

<17.5mm-45mm>
Weight - 210g (75g lighter)
Dimensions - 71mm (D) x 70mm (L)
<14-45mm>
Weight - 285g
Dimensions - 71mm (D) x 86.5mm (L)
