沒開我連袋鼠的腳都拍成糊的吧 (300mm 1/20手持不開vc??? even bring you worse result????) ...(恕刪)

My point is, VR/ VC only works on still object (leg you mentioned), it's useless when tracking a "moving" kangaroo, even worse (if you tried under low-light environment, you will know what I mean, I also owned Tamron 28-300mm VC). VC can fix minor vibration but can't works on such huge movement, hope you can get it.

And don't blame on fast len, you can use higher ISO to get the image you want, just like everyone can't afford. My len is not N300 F2.8 but a Tokina 300 F2.8 that more than 18 years old, it cost not more than NT. 30000 now.

D200, ISO800, 1/400 s, 300mm F2.8 +2X +1.4 = 840mm F8, hand-held, manual focus

^^A 請多多指教~

I never said VC/VR can "freeze" a "moving" kangaroo. So I understand what you mean. :)

But I don't think if I turn VC off, I can get a better picture under 1/20s speed.

What I emphasize here is just the purposes of 70200 and 70300 are different...At least that's why I have these 2 kinds of lenses. :)

Got it : ) also thanks for your sharing.

My past experience to take wildlife photos is, I always shut down VR/ IS/ VC/ OS while tracking because the compensation will affect the speed of focus and sometimes even cause blurred shot.

D200 (No.2 ), Sigma 150-500, 500mm, F8, hand-held, crop, sharpen and resize

Back to the topic, 70-200 F2.8 VRII is a very powerful len with excellent optical performance, I used it combined with TC-20 III and still obtained fairly good pictures. VR II did works that let me shoot with 1/15s at 400mm (D700, combined with TC-20 III), 75% successful rate.
^^A 請多多指教~

確實是個負擔
我右手跟身體腰部快不行了,拍了一整天好累啊
再放一些解毒照囉

如有傷眼懇請海函

Thanks for your sharing about the VR compansation will affect the focus speed while tracking !

I did feel that the sucessful rate of VR on / Normal setting is higher than VR on / active.

Regarding to your experiences, should I also switch the VR off for faster focus speed?

Thanks for your good experience sharing!!!

I believe if I can get faster shutter speed, I will turn off VC definitely...

Just like you see, the picture I took is 1/20s and the kangaroo is blur. I never expected the kangaroo will suddently start to run (jump) . I just want to take a regular "kangaroo" portrait... @@

Therefore my VC on is a "default setting" on that environment.

Moreover, I am glad that at least I still can focus on the kangaroo in time even the VC is on. It looks the impact of VC is acceptable.

here is another example. It's @210mm 1/30s F5.6 VC is on

If I turn off the VC, I think I will keep nothing clear in this picture on handheld situation.
最近敗了小黑六, 愛死他的散景拉! 好鏡頭
看圖吧! D90 + 小黑六
前輩們不要酸我為什麼沒上d700 or D3 series 喔! 我在等待____
