What? No aurora during summer? Sorry I did not see your description word by word!

Are you sure about that?

When is the best time to see aurora? Fall?
In addition, did you go to Iceland with tour group or find a tour guy over there? Will the local tour guy show us a perfect spot to see the aurora?
Thanks!
You took 1500 RAW pictures with 2 batteries everyday. Thus, you may well took about 5000 RAW pictures for this trip. What I want to say is that do you have that much time to do the retouching? I am pretty lazy and that's why 99% of time I take jpeg and worry about everything including WB while taking picture.

well since there will be midnight sun (24 hours day light) in iceland, the chance you will be able to witness the aurora borealis is shaky at best. The best time will probably be in the winter (January to March) when there are polar light in iceland (24 hours night time).
I found a tour guy in iceland through hotel front desk. There are a lot of tour options available.
I shot 1500+ throughout my trip, not per day. I usually edit my photos in a batch so it takes me about 3-4 hours to sort out 1500+ pictures (which is not that bad i guess). Personally, I hate JPG because I hate how it compresses the pictures quality. But if you still prefer to shoot JPG, I suggest you to use PRE white balance setting instead of AWB. Using AWB will probably make your pictures too "cold".
