According to your question, I guess I could offer you someof my personal experience.
I use Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 and find myself comfy with this lens regardless of low light or sufficient light conditions. I also bring my trusty Sigma 50mmF1.4 with me in case I need to take some bride portrait shots.
If, and only if you have a good external flash, I would strongly recommend you to use AF 16-85mm. 16-85mm is great lens to record wedding memories. Flexible focale length with clear picture to share with relatives.
So, go for the following 2 options for your upcoming wedding photography needs:
1. Tamron 28-75mmF2.8 + Sigma 50mmF1.4
2. Nikon AF 16-85mm + a good SB flash.
Relax and enjoy yourself in the wedding, okay? Wedding is an event where people gather together to celebrate and congratulate the newly-wedded.
Taking pictures of wedding is never a problem but it is the post-processing that would kill most of your brain cells. hahaha.
