Hi, I would like to offer you my suggestion if you don't mind. Maybe some of which had been said, but still, my personal opinion and hope this helps.
** I sold all my Nikon system (DF) and lenses to change into Fujifilm. Almost like your situation.
I bought a silver graphite XT-1 (Yeah, I probably should just buy a black version!) Here are my lenses: 1. 10-24 wide angle zoom 2. 18-55 zoom (kit) 3. 55-200 zoom
Here is my observation: 1. 18-55 zoom is quite good. I don't think optically it is that bad as compared with 16-55 which is heavy and no IS. I don't believe too much into weather resistance WR unless someone can say, this is Weather Proof, now that is a different meaning. I think WR is just a marketing game but the judge is up to you. Remember, even XT-1 is not a big camera to hold. Unless you are the absolute professional, you do not want to take in big size and unnecessary weight!
2. 10-24 zoom with OIS. This is definitely the zoom you should get! Forget the 14mm Fuji wide angle, I had it before. There is a reason why its selling price is low, optically, it is not that brilliant. The 10-24 reminds me of my previous Canon 17-40 F4 L, or the 16-35 F4L level. It is so flexible, so brilliantly optically and with OS, you can do a lot of good work at low light. When I use this, I always started either at 24 or at 10 to compose and then adjust my view slowly to see the right perspective.
3. 55-200 is another zoom you should definitely consider. At 15K per lens, this is a steal! I never regret it, I use it to cover some tight portrait shots and also to use for long range and this lens never disappoints me. I can't complain anything with the price I paid and the performance I get.
My suggestion is to start with above three excellent zoom on Fuji. Fuji primes are overpriced because of the bigger aperture. Unless you get into more critical about your photography, you really know which prime range lense is what you truly need. Yes, you do need to invest in a grip for XT-1. It can be hard to hold. I use the MHG-XT1 (medium) Be careful, there are three choices, one is without the grip (small), medium is in the middle, and there is a large which has a bigger handle, making XT1 looks like a DSLR! You can find the big size from TaoBao. Taiwan only has medium size grip.
The XT1 comes with an external small flash in case you need it. I use that as a trigger (I covered the flash output of this flash with tape) to my external Nissin i-40 Nikon mount flash to great result!
If you are not size constraint, you might even consider XT10 with grip. But for me, it is the body size and control that I consider very important. With the latest upgrade on firmware, the XT1 is getting better everyday! BTW, rumors has XT-1 is coming out in Q3 with the same sensor as the Xpro2. Price wise, it will be a lot more for sure I think. Hope all these helps. Very happy to answer you any question if you PM me as well.
