求助85MM 1.8

你好!我是使用50D,

有原廠百微了,該再買EF 85mm F1.8 USM嗎??

85MM 1.8跟百微100MM 2.8拍人像會差很多嗎???

Hi there.

My camara is 550D and I already have Sigma 50mm F1.4 and EF-S 15-85mm but I still bought EF 85mm F1.8 last week for portrait shots. Try to look up EF 85mm F1.8 in Flickr and you will see a lot of amazing portrait shots on APSC bodies.

What I am trying to tell you is I am super happy with my investment in EF 85mm F1.8, the bokeh is simply amazing and creamy. The price is breath taking at NT 12800 in Taichung which I think is way too cheap for such great performance. Another great value high C/P lens is Tamron A009.

Pros:
1. Focus speed is decent and fast compared to my Sigma 50mm F1.8 and Tamron B005.
2. Bokeh is simply awesome and dreamy.
3. Skin tone is nicely illustrated in outdoor shooting.
4. Gives me faster shutter speed when used indoors.
5. Light as feather, compared to other lenses I have on hand. 15-85 is heaviest.
6. USM is fast, as fast as my 15-85mm.
7. Image is sharp at a level where human face is clear but not so crispy as macro lens.
8. Color tone is excellent for human face especially for asians in my opinion. --> this is important when taking pics of pretty young women.
9. small size lens make your photo subject e.g. your model a comfort of mind. People tend to see smaller lens as less threat to them.... They have no idea EF 85mm F1.8 on APSC body becomes a 135mm tele lens.

Cons:
1. Small in size compared to other lenses I have. I kindda like big lenses. I love my Sigma 50mm f1.4 for its iconic design and size which gives me feel of authority in hand.
2. My room is too small to use 85mm but it is ok in the livingroom.
3. Lens hood is kindda expensive but worth the money when taking outdoor shots.
4. Wish it supports FTM (full time manual)
5. minimum focus distance is 0.85m which is kindda far way.....
6. heavy purple shadows on black subject against white background when viewed in actual size.
7. No IS support, I have a crippled right hand... >_<"

My personal thought about this EF 85mm F1.8 is that this lens is worth every dollar of my money to put it in my collection of portrait lens. I especially love to use when taking my boys to the park where I have plenty of room.

Come to think of excellent budget high C/P portrait lens, have you thought of Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 also known as A009? I have been searching for one A009 in Taichung that matches my 550D without success. Wish God would answer my call for a new Tamron A009 in addition to my collection of portrait lens.

Wish you find the right lens for your application and happy shooting. I know I am happy now with my EF 85mmF1.8 and wish you would be happy with it too.
