I expect 7D to offer a full stop ISO advantage than 50D with in-camera NR on. And I expect 7D to apply in-camera NR on both JPG and RAW, at no expense of performance.
Just look at EP1 and GH1. They all apply distortion, CA and vignette corrections and NR to RAW. 50D has vignette correction, D300 has CA correction. It's a matter of time before every manufactures uses in-camera post-processing on everything.
