You can change the COM port and baud rate used by the Mio's SiRFStar III chipset to whatever values you want using a utility program like SiRFTech (http://w5.nuinternet.com/s660100031/SirfTech.2007-01-08.v1.28.zip). SiRFTech can auto-find the current COM port and baud rate, and allows you to change it, for example to COM2: 38.4 kbaud to support Intellinav, or back to COM1: 4800 baud to support MioMap. You can view the current port settings on the Comm screen of SiRFTech, and change them on the NMEA screen (port must be Closed first). Make sure that you don't accidentally set the chipset to SIRF protocol, as both programs use NMEA protocol by default. And a word of advice from the author of SiRFTech: don't fool around with all the other GPS chipset settings if you don't understand them - you can really screw things up.
