That is not true. There has NEVER been confirmation of a soldered MD. People are just spreading these rumors so they can hoard the drives themselves.
Also, even if they do make the drive non-removable someday you could sell the unit on Taiwan Ebay for NT$10,000 easily and earn NT$2000. ;)
Better yet, order three MuVo2's and sell two of the removed MD's for NT$12000 each and you get yours for free. ;)
