U probably misunderstand the problem. The reason why you couldn't use 3G is because the radio frequency used in NA (include Canada) are different than Asia/Europe.

Most Asia countries use 1900/2100 for 3G data. While carries in US use UMTS 850/1900 (At&t), or 1700/2100 (t-mobile), ...etc. That's why we have very limited choice for 3G phone. (And I have to stick with Sony X1"a" with At&T)

Yeah I know that. My friend was pretty sure he had the correct frequency for NA 3G network.
The CSR from Rogers told him that Rogers doesn't allow any non-Rogers iPhones to use their 3G network (have to register your IMEI for authorization or some BS reasons), so that's why he was blocked from using it.

Btw, I am the guy who started the post, "Should I switch from Topaz to x1a?" on XDA Forum, and you replied to my post as well. So yeah... I think I am aware of the difference in frequency bands.

剛收到TMOBILE北美版的HD2, 現在是使用台灣大哥大的3G上網. 一般待機的時候是顯示出3G, 但是在下載更新的時候, 訊號會變更到 "H", 表示他現在是用HSDPA下載中. 我刷的是XDA上客製化的ROM, 可以顯示中文以及支援中文輸入. 但是TMOBILE的版本的HD2比一般的版本還要長一些, 是下方外框比較厚. 我是拿去漢神巨蛋的HTC貼保護貼的時候, 門市小姐發現的, 還拿出台灣版的比較一下, 真的是比較長一些. 還有台版的ROM是無法刷在美版的HD2上的, 至於台灣的HD2的RAM只有512是可以透過刷客製ROM的方式釋放出來. 刷機的方法, XDA上有詳細的說明.
