According to reports, Acer is planning to enter the feature phone market with its Acer Brew phone next year. The latest set is based on Qualcomm’s Brew platform.
It is expected that, the company sets its eye on the new emerging space that is the mobile space. So, it has designed this Brew based phone, which can be expected in 2010 only.
The new Acer Brew feature phone will be made based on the latest inputs. However, the details have not been announced yet. The company plans to introduce the set in response to the HTC Touch phone, which is the first ever feature phone from the company. HTC is known to produce smartphones.
Acer has also planned to come up with new Android and Windows Mobile phones. Accordingly, it has also formed a core team comprising of 30 developers for the development of Android sets. Foxconn has been hired to prepare the new phones. Foxconn is known to design the iPhones for Apple. However, Inventec will produce the Acer’s low-end Windows Mobile phones.
As per the company strategy, there will be a set of 8 -10 Android and Windows Mobile based phones next year.
