on highway, unless you are sure there is no cars besides you, just hit break, don't turn the wheels.
usually, if someone cut in front of you, u only need to hit break lightly, then there should be enough space for the person to cut.
if you are sliding, turn the wheels in the direction you want to go.
the stopping distance is related mostly to the kind of tires you have, not the kind of car you have. when you see on the magazines that Porsche, BMW can stop shorter than Toyota Vios, it's not the cars, it's the better tires fitted on those more expensive cars. If your car has ABS and fitted with the same exact tires like Porsche or BMW, your car will stop just like those cars. (within 10% differences)
If an accident is unavoidable, use your strongest part (front of the car) to hit the target and prepare to take a hit. (sit back, hand on the wheel, if you wear glasses, take it off (if you have enough time)
