recently, i am in the market for an SUV. some of my thought. (but i am in the US, so maybe a little different)
Lexus RX350:
For: Great car. very quiet. huge moonroof. Great resale value. reliable and Lexus service is excellent.
Against: the suspension is a bit too soft. It's very confortable on highway. but body tilt a lot during turns.
BMW E70 X5:
For: great style. body feel very tough and strong. split rear door which is good for tight space. Against: Interior looks cheap unless spice up with many options. Paint quality is not as good as other Germany made bothers.
Audi Q7
For: interior is beautiful. transmission. I believe Q7 use the same ZF trans like X5.
Against: engine is not as fuel efficient as others. overall build not as "tough" as X5. (especially the door closing sound) The 3.6 FSI is actually a VW Golf engine. They really should put the V6 from A6. sunroof can't block sun completely.
i might choose between X5 and Q7. but i am not sure yet. (maybe i will wait for few more month and see what's Q5 looks like)
