Abstract: Left-foot braking is a topic of considerable debate. To help instructors navigate through inevitable conversations regarding the issue of right-foot vs. left-foot braking, the advantages and disadvantages of each are discussed in this paper. An evaluation of each technique suggests that right-foot braking is the better technique for the novice driver to learn, utilize, and master for everyday driving. (評估兩種煞車技巧後,右腳煞車較適用於初學者及一般日常駕駛) This paper aims to provide instructors with a better understanding of left-foot braking and offer talking points that they might find useful in the classroom. It addresses the pros and cons of each of the techniques in question, and offers a recommendation toward preparing safe, new drivers.
