第一本是A Complete Guide To Learning The Irish Tin Whistle, CD Edition. ($31.61)
This is surprisingly one of the first ‘Complete Guides to The Irish Whistle’. Written by Clare McKenna (one of Ireland’s finest tin whistle players) who knows more than most about the whistle. Clare has recorded, taught and performed to the highest of levels. Incidentally, Clare also edited the highly popular ‘110 Ireland’s Best Tin Whistle Tunes’ series.
So here you have it then. Everything you need in one book, that will satisfy the raw beginner or the more advanced player alike.
The first section of the book features tunes that are diagrammed to help assist instant playing. Graded scales and exercises, linked to a wide selection of tunes, are especially chosen to demonstrate specific techniques and playing styles. There is also a comprehensive guide to traditional ornamentation.
Throughout the book, key points are highlighted, focussing upon essential aspects of whistle technique. No book would be complete without historical and biographical notes about top whistlers, so these are included too.
The final section features 99 great tin whistle tunes. A discography of definitive recordings is also included.
This book contains a twin CD and features all the exercises and tunes as the author meant them to be played.

110 of the best whistle tunes in any tin whistle player’s repertoire, specially chosen and arranged by on of Ireland’s top players and teachers. Graded by difficulty for everyone from the beginner to the advanced player.
The book has a brief passage for beginners for reading musical notes and diagrams, there is also a small passage on Ornamentation.
This tune book stands out from many others in the manner in which it grades its tunes. There are 7 sections, Beginners A, Beginners B up to the end of this section fingering tablature is included under each note. When Improvers A, Improvers B, Advanced A and Advanced B appear you are expected to go it alone.
The selections and range of tunes used linked with the use of tablature is very good. Also many players will find the inclusion of chords on all tunes useful.
Two types of this book are stocked one with the accompanying twin CD and one without.
The accompanying Soundtrack Double CD has each of the 110 Tunes featured upon it and represents excellent value without compromising upon product quality.
