The soft canals are useful for singers or people who move their mouth while wearing iems. It’s a softer material that is more flexible but it doesn’t last as long as the hard plastic. The other main feature is recessed sockets which is this. The connector goes deeper into the shell. It helps if your cord gets tugged.
