剛剛又去聽了DAVE回來.用CD播放機.接WA5膽耳擴.換CD反覆比較(接HD800S耳機)
還是比較喜歡DAVE耳機孔直推HD800S耳機的聲音
聲音比較直白(味素.染色較少).當然接WA5膽耳擴會比較有氣勢.就看個人的口味了
DAVE擺桌上.USB線接筆電.耳機直插就可以輕鬆的享受音樂了
重點是DAVE非常小巧.背包裝回家.跟家人少說1個0就過關了......當然外盒就留給老闆了
接WA5膽耳擴還要多一條電源線與兩條訊號線.3樣加起來也要過20W了

入手Sennheiser HD800S.老闆力推Abyss AB-1266.聽了聲音很好.但是比較不舒服戴不久
又馬上入手Violectric HPA V281 耳擴.過年後回台北聽了DAVE就只能望機興嘆
用SONY ICF-SW07 收音機當訊源.先接6.3單端耳機線24小時run in
已跑了1000多小時.HPA V281只是微溫蠻穩定的.今天換上4P平衡耳機線繼續run in
耳機升級線目前朋友推薦Cardas Clear.等到貨再去店家與Siltech Duchess Crown比較一下
放在臥室run in.已開小聲(因為是開放式耳機)但是半夜聲音不小.用布將耳機蓋起來降低音量

So far the sound is stunning! Cold out of the box better then the PUC2 Lite (my previous #1) - at least for the F-1. The X-1 is excellent as well - just a notch less detail, but warm with a rich natural tone - but at least as good as the DXIO Pro3a. They both need 100hrs run time for the clocks and caps to settle in. I would just like to inform everyone of a surprise I've encountered with the latest gen of XMOS Xcore 200 processors. I've just heard the best audio USB yet, but I'll have to hear comparisons to find out if it's just the DAC, or the combination of DAC/interface.

Long story short is that the Vodka cable is going back, and the Diamond isn't. With the usual proviso that all cable (and DAC) differences simply must be objectively small, the subjective musical enjoyment impact of Diamond optical over my best RCA coax cable was like Yggy transformed into a different DAC - which I'm enjoying more than either of the DACs I was comparing a couple of weeks before.
The fact that nobody else is raving over this cable effect could be because such cable differences are highly system dependent, or maybe not many have tried optical? Maybe those that love their Yggy have always had this better sound, but a different system synergy meant they are getting it with different cable types? Maybe disappointed users like rsbrsvp are just using the wrong cable (and stock power cord)?
I'm still going to give the DAVE another try in a week or two, in a fairer test after it's had a proper burn-in period, because I like its concept very much. But in the meantime, I'm having fun rediscovering my music collection with "Diamond Yggy" all over again.
