The Snapdragon 820 4x4 LTE MIMO Multiple Input and Multiple Output will enable speeds up to 600 Mbps with 4x4 LTE Mimo and 256QAM.
Samsung has confirmed its plans to finish the base station software by Q4 2016. It turns out that the latest Galaxy Note 7 already supports 4x4 LTE MIMO - at least the one shipping in USA and a few other markets. Europe and India are getting the Exynos 8890 Octa core and Samsung’s Exynos 8890 modem supports up to 2x2 MIMO so that's much lower maximum speeds compared to the Qualcomm version.
裡面提到S7系列的Exynos 8890處理器modem只有2x2 MIMO。

S8系列的Exynos 8895 Specs內沒有提到4x4 MIMO,只有說它們使用的是FD-MIMO,這是使用在5G世代毫米波的波束成型天線技術,基本上還是實驗室階段,還沒有商用化。內容提到的5CA 1Gbps下載速度只需要256QAM 2x2 MIMO的技術就可達成,所以確定台版是沒有4x4 MIMO。國外各網站也沒有資料顯示S8系列的Exynos 8895手機是4x4 MIMO。
這些除了硬體支援外,軟體也要支援。像高通這種公司感覺就是把各種功能拆分開來賣,除了基本功能外,再把各種功能拆成硬體與軟體授權(license)來賣,要什麼頻段要什麼性能,都要授權費用,這種方式是很常見的商業模式,也最好賺。
這就是為什麼一樣都用同樣的高通晶片,但是不同手機廠不同手機支援的頻段等等功能都不太一樣的原因,因為每加一種功能都要授權費用,所以手機廠在設計硬體時也會考慮要不要加入設計。
