講真的,在MAC宣告捨PPC,採用INTEL而非AMD的時候,
就可以預見未來的APPLE只有一些小地方能夠與PC叫囂,其它的硬體肯定是又貴又慢的次級品。
I am afraid that I cannot agree to this point of view, at least from the time frame between the beginnings of the Apple-Intel Transition until today.
Mac mini, MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac all use Intel’s Mobile CPU.
And all the way from 2005 to today, Intel’s Mobile CPU provides first class performance and excellent power management.
AMD’s Mobile CPU - Turion 64 processors simply cannot match Intel’ Core Duo and Core 2 Duo counterparts, in terms of both performance and power saving.

Again, please read my message. My complaints towards the newest revision of MacBooks and MacBook Pros is relatively speaking.
The Core 2 Duo (Late 2006) revision and the Santa Rosa (Mid 2007) revision, the processor and memory used truly represents the high-end laptop market back then at that time.
The Core 2 Duo revision MacBook Pros were equipped with T7400 (2.16Ghz/4mb L2 Cache/FSB 667Mhz) + 1GB Ram and T7600 (2.33Ghz/4mb L2 Cache/FSB 667Mhz) + 2GB Ram.
The Santa Rosa revision MacBook Pros were equipped with T7500 (2.2Ghz/4mb L2 Cache/FSB 800Mhz) and T7700 (2.4Ghz/4mb L2 Cache/FSB 800Mhz) + 2GB Ram.
T7600 and T7700 were both the highest end of Intel’s Mobile Processor offering at the time the MacBook Pros were introduced. Their memory capacity matched that of the flagship machines from other manufacturer also.
That’s why I said the MacBook Pros used to represent what people expected to get in their price range, US$2000 - $3000.
I am not saying that now the new MacBook Pros became hell slow; the point is that they no longer offer that cutting edge performance. Comparatively speaking, MacBook Pros no longer match the performance (truly high end) that everyone expected to get from that price range.
I am sorry if it sounds offend, but I think that point one is not a good idea. We love that product so we purchase it. If the products’ successor doesn’t meet our expectations, we have to tell them that it’s not good enough.
If Apple is carrying this kind of “Don’t like it? Don’t buy it!” attitude, then I am sure that we won’t even have the sleek MacBook and MacBook Pros today that we are using.
Someone might think that I still carry that typical PC enthusiasts’ attitude of minding all those kind of specs and etc and don’t understand what shapes the Mac is the software and integration part et cetra.
I mean, I do understand that and that’s also why I love my Mac. I bought my first PowerBook G4 with almost 2X the price I could buy a Wintel laptop with Pentium M processor that I know would certainly run a lot faster than my PowerBook G4.
This post is not the same old PC enthusiasts’ typical saying of Macs are slow and expensive and blah blah blah; this is a Mac lover’ feedback towards the latest line up of the products that he loves and uses.
Use a sentence in Chinese to describe, 愛 之 深 責 之 切.
I am disappointed this time, but I would always look forward to their next revision.
