我會建議晚一點買。因為 Firewire 這個東西，我從剛開始有的時候就買給 Mac 和 PC 都裝上去了，非常好用。
也有非常多配備可以使用到。
如果蘋果在這個 X'mas 假期後發現新的 MacBook 沒 FW 後影響慎大，搞不好會把 FW 填上去...

當要把三個以上的外接硬碟接到 "手提電腦" 上時

這真的是你講的 "你所有會用到的需求 MacBook 都可以做到" 嗎？

I didn't say it's faster. i said it's run cooler. (on the 2.4G, it's P8600 M0-stepping, on 2.0G, it's P7350 M0 stepping)
the OLD macbook 2.1G is T8100, which ha TFP of 35W vs. the new 25W M0 stepping

both Macbook and Pro use TN panel. if color accuracy is very important or you do this for a living, you will need to connect it to a external monitor.

In fact, on the later model Mac, you can use USB to connect 2 computer and migrate image. however, you WON"T be able to do "Target Disk Mode" but seriously, how many people know what's that?

oh, well, it's really cherry picking.
Digital back, i would assume a lot of people don't even know what's that.
Firewire external HD is indeed faster than USB, but most of them are more expensive, too. In reality, it's like 35MB/s vs. 30MB/s if you are using Firewire 400, it's not that big a deal in my opinion.
as i said in other post, if you MUST have firewire port, it's a great reason to go Macbook Pro. otherwise, there is really no need in my opinion. (especially if you are paying $1999 instead of the ADC price)
my main point is....... not everyone need Macbook Pro. for average consumer, Macbook is everything they will ever need.
in addition, i think 2.0G Macbook is actually more than enough for most people. It can play 1080P movie with no problem (which was the biggest weakness on the old model)
