If you are going to run any 3D graphic software with your new notebook, you better keep away from Z1.
I never use S6210, but I had a Z1(1.7GHz) before.
It was OK for running MS office, internet browser, illustartion, photoshop, even the video editing software; However, the screen become mess when running 3D graphic software, such as MAYA or LightWave.
that's why I gave it to my girlfriend, and bought a Benq JB7000 instead(even JB7000 isn't looking as good as Z1).
by the way, since you are a Powerbook user, I cannot think any reason for you to switch to Wintel platform.
