Hello all,
You've prob. guessed it, yes, I am buying a new laptop soon.
I went to sony's earlier today, and they told me that the new SZ260(sec gen. of the old 160) is due out on May 21st(if I recall correctly). I had my mind pretty much set on that machine.
Now, I came home, reading my daily tech blog, what do I see? The new macbook 13" and they come with a choice of white or BLACK.
I am now really tempted to be buying the mac instead.
Though spec-wise, the vaio would most definitly have an edge over the mac. However, it is also about 1k more expensive (if the price of the 260 does not fluctuate much from the 160)
what is putting me off of the mac is that the graphic is an integrated one which, well...you know.., even though I will not be playing games on my laptop, I dont really know if i am going to need a better card, like the one vaio is offering.
what scares me the most is that, I have heard and read many posts about macbook pro having heat problems, and pictures showing crazy thick and just unprofessional amount of thermal grease inside MBP on...well, everything.
The laptop will be used mainly for school and coding, I might use it for some photo, and video editing, too. Do I really need a better graphic card than the integrated one on macbook?
I did think about the 15" macbook pro, but its just well, too big for my liking, and like I said above, heat problems are being reported all over the net.

If i do go for macBook it will be the black,13" 2ghz with 2g ram upgrade
which one would you guys choose?
well, an independent vedio card could be hell a plus for later use on entertainments or some artistic editing. With this kind of money, why not go for a better specs NB ? You never know what's coming up along your study, as you may happen to run some highly vedio-card demanded programs. Unless money is no issue to you in any instance. Nevertheless, If you have desktop with more-than-enough specs, then choose whichever doesn't really matter.
just some words, good luck on picking a nice one ~
Enless your major is computer graphic related, or you've got a powerful PC desktop, you better stay with SZ vaio or some better spec PC NB.
Still, PC is the main stream, except for some design related programs.
Even you don't paly computer games, you can still benefit from independent graphic card.
It'll keep you runing multiple programs and switching back and forth smothly
(e.g MS words+ power point+ photo editing programs+media player).
