how long exactly will the battary last???or it depends??? if so, what??
whe i bought my samsung x10, they guy told me both battery (think and thin) will last up to 7 hours but.............
such as Turn the screen light low or turn off, all necessary part of (Lan card, sound ....), standby.

many many ways to increase your runtime by adjusting little settings
but overall, it has to do with your battery chambers
there are 6-cell, 9-cell, 12-cell or more types of battery out there
for a normal laptop, should come with a 6-cell
and for most users, 3 to 3.5 hours of mobile life is expected,
assuming you dim off your monitor, turn your mode to "Max Battery"
so your SpeedStep function is fully used.
this concept applied to all pentium m laptops, hope my opinion helped you a little.

cpu I really don't feel "that" much difference, but then my CPU's slow ass 1.1GHz only..
careful with the marketing lingo, what they claimed is often a machine in complete idling stages with lcd turned to the dimest possible setting..
Really, it's just the matter of time before some low class NB makers set a REALLY REALLY dim setting and claim to have 9hrs up time :P We all know it's useless, but they would do anything to make it look good on paper..
Centrino based NB's can usually last up to 3,4hrs with "normal" usage. Such as text-based work.. web browsing with mp3 playing etc.. anything heavier going hardcore like mpeg4 video playing full screen.. maybe 2hrs and a bit.. keep your adapters ready :)
