再者，我從來沒有說我的話代表全世界：標題不也說了嗎？美式英文，這輩子小弟從來沒去過歐洲，不知道他們怎麼說，故標題為美式英文。

至於你說什麼 "你卻要來這裡說你在德州聽到的才是對的"，相信小弟已經委婉的說 "it seems like"，所以我並不敢也不會跟你說德州聽到的才是對的。
而今天，小弟將這個小知識提出來，只是覺得這個名詞很好玩，跟大家分享分享而已，請你大人大量，不需要這麼的生氣。
再來，言歸正傳，我剛剛無聊又查了一下 Wikipedia 對 laptop/notebook 的見解，他們的解釋是，notebook 是指更小型的筆記型電腦，而如果真要加以區別的話，1989 年中旬所發表的 NEC Ultralite，堪稱為第一台 notebook。

p.s. 關於 laptop 一事，我的確是問過１０個以上土生土長的美國人，他們告訴我的知識，所以請海涵我們這些人的無知。
如果，我今天再提出來前一陣子才了解的新聞 NEWS 的涵義，是否又有人會質疑我的動機，怕怕...

When I was in military service, we got a bunch of these clones, too. Lugging these around can make you as strong as Arnold Schwarzenegger one day.
The 1st Laptop PC is also made by Compaq in 1988. The Compaq SLT/286.
The first Notebok PC is made by NEC - the Ultra Lite - in 1989. Well, no picture here, but we all know what a Notebook PC looks like.
That should give everyone a clearer picture of terminologies in order.

That's why I hesitate to call a Notebook PC "Laptop" nowadays. It always reminds me of the old days.
Contrary to someone's post, that a "Laptop PC" is one that can "rest" on you laptop, it is not the case in the beginning. Notebook PC does indeed come from the fact it's shaped like the size of a A4/Letter size pad.
By the way, the picture you put on is "UltraLite Versa". It's not exactly the first generation "Ultra Lite". In fact, I still have a "UltraLite Versa" at my hand, which runs i386 SX.
