Though my car has Navigation system already, but it seems all the PPC power users are talking about GPS devices, so I build my GPS accessories for my X30 this week. Here is my GPS accessories, and why I choose them:
Car mount: Seidio G2500, see the post
GPS software: Space Machine Pocketmap, will post later.
GPS receiver: Teletype GPS BT receiver($189) , replaceable and rechargeable AAA battery, fast and more accessories can choose see the PocketPC Magazine May 2004 review, also you can see the CNET review
Teletype is a company located in MA, they produce lots of diffrent GPS devices and accessories, their GPS Map data now support US, Canada, Euro and Global, however, I didn't choose their software bundle, since their interface is too simple/plain to me, plus a littlbe bit expensive. Anyway, this article will introduce their newest GPS BT receiver, please see the first picture:
1. In the package includes BT GPS receiver, charging cradle, carry case, one magnetic pad, one cigratte charger. the receiver is made in Korea
2. BT receiver, one BT connection LED, one Satellite signal LED and one battery LED
3. Receiver left side, one external antenna jack, one DC in jack
4. Receiver right side, power switch, you also can see two charge connectors on the bottom
5. Receiver back side
6. Open the battery door, three rechargable AAA battery
7. The batter door attached one mental for the magnetic pad attach.
So what I am thinking regarding this product.
1. Eash setup.
2. Replaceable battery.
3. Fast, I don't have a chance to use the other brand, but it satisfy my needs, the official test result from PocketPC is here
