coz all the GPS are only a reciver which mean would not emit any signal to interfer any kind of radio.so the use of GPS on the plane is legal as long as fellowing the safty rule which may vary on different airline.(e.g. CX even accept FM radio to be use inside the aircraft(but not during take off and landing)!!!)....so i suggest u only use it at the time between after takeoff and before landing....as GPS reciver also count as electrical equipment oir!!!.
