In my point of view, infrared is a must have device for your pc. No matter you use T610 or other phones in the future, as long as the phones support the infrared, your pc can communicate with the phone via infrared interface.
Take T610 for example, infrared and bt can do most things except firmware upgrade. If you have infrared or bt with your pc, you'll know how good the T610 is.
