1. 使用2G以上，1TB以下的USB 硬碟，
2. RT-N16可以支援ext2, ext3, ntfs和 fat32，最近爬的英文討論區上很多人提到格式化的FAT32就好了， 可以試試看。
3. 關閉系統和防毒軟體的防火牆,可能是防火墙挡掉了DM
4. 在DM裡點connect後，如果出現Device is not ready. Please connect again， 在網頁設定介面中點reboot。如果是其他錯誤的話，卸載DM後再重裝。
1. firmware 9.9.4.75
2. utilities installed from ASUS Website 4.5.5.2
3. HDD formatted with NTFS filesystem
4. Download Master can't connect to router error
Follow this steps will solve this problem!
1. Disconnect HDD from router and connect it to PC
2. Create folders:
.etc
share
share\Download
share\Download\Complete
share\Download\config
share\Download\InComplete
share\Music
share\Photo
share\Video
Open folder C:\Program Files\ASUS\RT-N16 Wireless Router Utilities\RT-NX\
Extract file .apps.zip to root folder of your attachet HDD. So, You must see ".apps" folder in the root of HDD.
Safely disconnect HDD from PC and connect it to router.
Open link: http://192.168.1.1/Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp
Enter: /sbin/run_apps
Your window will freeze for seeral seconds. After that you will see a huge amount of text and at the end :
preparing to start Download Machine
Music DIR exist
Video DIR exist
PHOTO DIR exist
DOWNLOAD DIR exist
Navigate to http://192.168.1.1/Main_LogStatus_Content.asp and see at the end line such this "Jan 18 08:56:56 (none) user.emerg Download Master: daemon is started"
Well done. Now You can start Download Master from PC and it will connect to router.
I benefit from using Pashka method (latest one) simply unpack .apps into USB root directory and perform a /sbin/run_apps on RT N16.
from my experience after playing for a while using old hard disks, re-format old hard disk and new hard disk. here is my notes:
1. Once it worked out on that USB disk, it will work all the times. I don't see Kaiser problem. Power down router, power up router, power PC/ modem etc had no negative impact on Download Master ability to detect the USB HDD.
2. some reported using Pashka method and did not work. When they use /sbin/run_apps, there are errors like:
dbg: check files
Cannot find /tmp/harddisk/part0/.apps/list.
Make sure it's available.
I think I found out what did not work , I used to pull out USB HDD and move to other computer for files management since it works at much faster speed. Then I was using 9937 and lower firmware. I realise when I pull out USB HDD without using GUI to 'REMOVE' , keeping the router power on, then later one when I plug in the USB HDD to RT N16, guess what happen? the drive partitions change incrementally. So my old partitions 0,1,2,3 now become 4,5,6,7... do it once more , it become 8,9,10,11...
so what happen when download master is run? it cannot find the partition 0... and cannot connect to USB HDD.
What to do? I found two things will reset partitions to original 0,1,2,3, one is just power down router, wait some 10 secs, power up again. another method, from GUI, top right corner, there is a REBOOT button, press that and allow 30 seconds for router to reboot. after that,, download master works as usual, partitions reset to 0,...
3. Some old questions : what download master support since not cover in manual.
I see FTP, HTTP and BT.
4. finally I also found that Download manager works on all firmware i tested...I think it is the method/procedure of setting up USB HDD that is the key to get it works.

MU已經連續操2個禮拜,還沒當機過,邊下載邊看網頁也很穩,不會LAG
我很少用BT下載,對我影響不大,HTTP直接下載也只有要玩線上遊戲,官網下載主程式有用到而已
現在都用JDownloader下載MU,速度快資源多,不怕斷種,只要你ISP是中華頻寬又大,會讓你下載操到爆(算是現在下載的主流吧,若你要玩看看,我在跟你講我都在哪裡找資源)
(如果哪個廠商現在能把JDownloader或跟他有一樣的功能的軟體,設定成離線下載,他的廠品或韌體一定會大賣)
我若需要用到BT下載我則是用miroko網路硬碟下載,他的網路硬碟支援BT下載免費的,但只有5G空間一次只能下載一個檔案,也不是很好用,除非是熱門檔不然很難下載,好處就是速度快,4G檔案不用幾分鐘就下載好了,再從網路硬碟下載到電腦也是極速跑,若5分鐘檔案沒下載好或沒動就放棄,都沒其他辦法可下載時,才會用比特下載
